Progress in the study of long non-coding RNA in the proliferation and invasion of oral squamous cell carcinoma

  • Oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC)is one of the most common malignant tumours in the head and neck region, with high metastatic rate, high recurrence rate, high mortality rate, and poor therapeutic effect.OSCC can lead to metastasis to the lymph nodes in the neck or to distant organs of the body, resulting in a decrease in the cure rate of the patients and an increase in the mortality rate.Currently, the study of OSCC proliferation and invasion mechanisms and the exploration of new therapeutic targets have become a hot research topic in the field of OSCC.Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) refers to a class of non-protein coding transcripts with more than 200 nucleotide fragments. In recent years, domestic and foreign scholars have shown that lncRNA plays a pivotal role in the proliferation and invasion of OSCC.It is now believed that lncRNA can affect the proliferation, invasion and lymph node metastasis or distant metastasis of OSCC cells through a variety of pathways and molecular mechanisms.Combined with the research results in recent years at home and abroad, this review reviews the role of lncRNA in the proliferation, invasion and metastasis of OSCC, so as to provide a new strategy for the clinical treatment of OSCC.
