Abstract
In recent years, the incidence of esophageal cancer in China has shown a significant downward trend, but its late discovery and high fatality rate are still an urgent problem to be solved.Ferroptosis is a new regulatory mode of cell death and is mainly induced by the accumulation of free iron, the production of free radicals and the deposition of lipid peroxides. This paper summarizes that some genes and related non-coding RNA may be biological targets affecting the progress and treatment of esophageal cancer. In the treatment of esophageal cancer, activation-induced ferroptosis is helpful to reduce chemotherapy resistance and improve the effect of radiotherapy.Recent studies have also found that some Chinese herbal medicines can exert anti-tumor effect by inducing ferroptosis. At the same time, this paper summarizes the ferroptosis related genes with potential research value related to the prognosis of esophageal cancer. It is hoped that through the in-depth study of the related mechanism of ferroptosis, it will provide new ideas for the prognosis evaluation and treatment direction of esophageal cancer in the future.
