Abstract:
Sarcandra glabra is a traditional Chinese medicine, which has the effects of clearing heat and cooling blood, promoting blood circulation to remove ecchymoses, and dispelling wind to dredge collaterals. It is clinically used in the adjuvant treatment of pneumonia, appendicitis and various cancers. The active anti-inflammatory ingredients have been reported to include coumarin, phenolic acids, flavonoids, lignans, terpenoids and polysac-charides. In this review, we summarize the research progress on the anti-inflammatory effects of
Sarcandra glabra over the past 15 years (2010-present), with a focus on its anti-inflammatory constituents, so as to provide a reference for the future research and development of
Sarcandra glabra.
