Abstract:
Cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) is mainly used in cardiac surgery.CPB can cause damage to the brain, heart, kidney and other important organs, and develop associated complications.Metabonomics is the science of studying the metabolites of all the changes in a biological system resulting from external stimuli, and the metabolite composition of the body will change after CPB.Studying metabolic changes in the perioperative period of cardiac surgery can provide important insights into the pathogenesis of the disease and potentially identify new biomarkers. This review mainly introduces the current status of metabolomics as well as its research progress in the brain damage, heart, kidney, lung and other important organs in CPB cardiac surgery, and looks into the future of metabolomics in this field.
