Abstract:
Controlled ovarian stimulation (COS) is a crucial part of the treatment of
in vitro fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm injection (IVF/ICSI).The gonadotropin-releasing hormone antagonist (GnRH-ant) scheme has become one of the mainstream COS schemes nowadays due to its advantages such as short superovulation time, low gonadotropin (Gn) dosages, retention of pituitary reactivity, and significant reduction of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) incidence.Pretreatment using GnRH-ant is becoming a promising pretreatment method for COS pre-initiation of GnRH-ant regimens, and this article reviews the application of GnRH-ant pretreatment in IVF/ICSI GnRH-ant regimens.
